Hi!  Welcome to the Starry Night Studio website.  I chose the name because Vincent Van Gogh is one of my favorite painters.  Here is some info about me you might find useful:  I graduated from Frostburg State University in May 1995, with a BS in Art Education.  I substitute taught for several years before I got a job teaching art to K-8 students in Baltimore, MD. I taught there for 6 years, and in August 2006, my family and I relocated to Nazareth.  I became Pennsylania K-12, art teacher-certified in March 2011.  I enjoy sewing, reading, camping, cooking, arts and crafts, and hiking.

 

The reason I started this studio is because I have always felt most comfortable with groups of children and adults eager to find that inner artist. My job is to bring out that creativity. It is very uplifting to be in a room with a student who is discovering a new artistic medium or technique.  My favorite is the one who claims they have "no artistic ability", and then, as if by magic, they create a project they are profoundly proud of. I am hoping to inspire some of that "magic" in my Starry Night Studio students.
